Sleep Apnea
This is a subtitle for your new post

Sleep apnea is a common disorder that causes your breathing to stop or get very shallow. Breathing pauses can last from a few seconds to minutes. The most common type is obstructive sleep apnea. It causes your airway to collapse or become blocked during sleep. People with sleep apnea often snore loudly. However, not everyone who snores has sleep apnea.
The most common signs and symptoms of sleep apnea include:
- Daytime sleepiness or fatigue.
- Restlessness during sleep, frequent nighttime awakenings.
- Sudden awakenings with a sensation of gasping or choking.
- Dry mouth or sore throat upon awakening.
- Night sweats.
- Loud snoring.
If left untreated, sleep apnea can cause a number of health problems, including hypertension (high blood pressure), stroke, cardiomyopathy (enlargement of the muscle tissue of the heart), heart failure, diabetes and heart attacks. Appliance therapy is a proven and reliable method for treating sleep apnea, oral appliances are recommended by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and covered by Medicare and most insurance companies.
